Description

Tscharke is a family-owned, certified organic and biodynamic winery situated in Marananga, in the heart of the Barossa Valley. Sam Tscharke, the winemaker, farms the same land his family has worked for generations, and brings to each vintage a genuine commitment to letting the site speak without interference. The estate has been organically certified since 2010 and biodynamically farmed since 2013, with a particular focus on soil health and vine balance that produces naturally low yields and intensely flavoured fruit.

The Distinction Shiraz is made from the estate's best Shiraz parcels, hand-harvested and vinified with the careful, considered approach that runs through everything Tscharke does. Minimal additions, nothing added that does not need to be there, and a wine that is built to age and develop over five to ten years from release. The Barossa Valley's warm days, cool nights and the ancient soils of Marananga come together here to produce a Shiraz of genuine regional character: powerful but never heavy, generous but never blowsy.
