Generous and full of character. Dark cherry, red berries and a hint of sweet spice on the nose. Soft and inviting on the palate, opening to some red stone fruit, strawberries and fresh mushrooms, framed by satin tannins and restrained toasted oak. Pairs beautifully with duck, mushroom dishes or salmon.

Description

From the same Tamar Valley Estate the Duffys have farmed since 2006. Several clones of Pinot Noir from many blocks on the estate vineyard were hand-picked, destemmed and wild fermented in small open-top fermenters, hand-plunged up to four times a day, then pressed to oak (25% new French oak) and matured for 9 months.

This vintage was a warmer than average year with an early, compressed harvest, producing a full, rich, aromatic style.
Tasting Notes

Colour: Ruby Red.

Nose: Prominent aromas of dark cherry, red berries and a hint of sweet spice.

Palate: Soft and inviting from the first sip, opening to red stone fruit, strawberries and fresh mushrooms on a textured framework of satin tannins, restrained toasted oak and light savoury notes, balanced with lingering acidity and a satisfying, long finish.
