Description

Handpicked Wines builds its regional expression tier on fruit sourced from its own estate vineyards in each region, ensuring authenticity and genuine provenance. In the Yarra Valley, the Regional Selection Pinot Noir draws on both Highbow Hill on the valley floor at Yarra Glen and Wombat Creek at Gladysdale in the elevated Upper Yarra Valley.

The Yarra Valley is one of Australia's most celebrated cool-climate wine regions. Protected from extremes by the Yarra Ranges and shaped by cool, dry summers and long autumns, it consistently produces Pinot Noir of brightness, structure and genuine elegance. The region sits approximately 30 to 60 kilometres east of Melbourne, with significant variation in elevation between sub-areas. Highbow Hill benefits from the valley floor's warmth to deliver generosity and fruit depth, while Wombat Creek's elevated position produces wines with higher natural acidity and a more restrained, fine-boned character.

The winemaking approach is gentle and considered. The fruit is destemmed and vinified in open fermenters before maturation for 10 months with French oak producing a wine that maintains freshness and drinkability while delivering real regional personality. The Regional Selection is designed to showcase what the Yarra does best: Pinot Noir that is expressive, balanced and built to be enjoyed.
