Château Barbanau La Girafe Rouge

Château Barbanau is a beautiful biodynamic estate situated in Roquefort-la-Bédoule, in the westernmost reaches of Provence at 380 metres above sea level, overlooking the Mediterranean. The estate has been in the same family since 1889, when Emile Bodin created the original Clos Val Bruyere. Today it is run by Sophie Zaccheo and her husband Didier, an oenologist and agronomist, who have built on the family's long commitment to farming in harmony with nature.

Barbanau was the first domain in the Cassis appellation to receive organic certification in 2005, and has operated without synthetic chemicals since 1995. The La Girafe range extends that philosophy into the Cotes de Provence appellation, where the estate produces a range of wines that limit their environmental impact at every point of the production chain. 100% biodynamic, vegetarian and vegan-friendly in all production and fining processes. La Girafe Rouge is a blend of Syrah and Grenache, vinified naturally and built for straightforward pleasure.

Colour: Bright, brilliant purple-red with a lively, youthful appearance.

Nose: Small red fruits of raspberry, blackberry and morello cherry alongside warm spice notes of cinnamon and pepper. Aromatic and inviting.

Palate: Soft, smooth and approachable with generous red fruit flavours and a lovely round texture. Fresh and easy-drinking with a clean, pleasant finish. Perfectly suited to lighter-style food and everyday enjoyment.
