Nomad's Garden is a family-run label from husband and wife team Ben and Ellie Schulz Dahlenburg, based in North East Victoria. Ben makes the wine, and Ellie runs operations, wholesale and distribution. The label began almost by accident in 2017, when Ben, then winemaker at the Halliday 5 Red Star-rated Eldorado Road, had surplus fruit sitting in the winery. He fermented it wild, the result was good enough that distributors wanted to sell it, and Nomad's Garden was born as a side project that grew slowly and organically over the years that followed.
The name reflects the philosophy behind every wine in the range: single vineyard, low intervention and naturally fermented, made by wandering between small parcels of fruit across North East Victoria rather than sticking to one fixed formula. This Prosecco is sourced from a single vineyard in the King Valley and fermented using only the wild yeast naturally present on that site. The goal was a bright, clean and vibrant style with the bubble, acidity and residual sugar in careful balance, a wine that captures the cool, high-altitude character of the King Valley in every glass.
