Description

Handpicked Wines was founded on the philosophy that the world's finest vineyards deserve hands-on, sustainable stewardship. Across their estate vineyards in Tasmania, the Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula and Barossa Valley, the team pursues organic farming practices, with both Tasmanian sites Auburn Road and Native Point in the Tamar Valley now in certified organic conversion under NASAA.

Tasmania has earned a global reputation for ultra-premium cool-climate wines, and the Tamar Valley is at the heart of that story. The Auburn Road Vineyard sits on the west bank of the Tamar River on weathered basalt soils, producing fruit with remarkable flavour complexity and mineral precision. The climate here is characterised by long, slow ripening seasons, cool nights and strong maritime influence conditions that preserve natural acidity while building genuine depth.

The Collection range represents Handpicked's premium estate tier: wines that showcase the distinct character of their specific region and vineyard. For this Chardonnay, whole bunch pressing, wild yeast fermentation in new and seasoned Burgundian puncheons, and partial malolactic fermentation combine to produce a wine of exceptional refinement and balance. Every sip reflects the pure essence of Tasmanian terroir.
