Description

The House of Bollinger was founded in 1829 in Aÿ, in the heart of the Grande Montagne de Reims. It remains one of the few Champagne houses still family-owned and independently operated, a fact that shows in the consistency and commitment of the wines across every cuvee. Bollinger owns 163 hectares of vineyards, sourcing approximately 60% of its annual grape requirements from its own estate, a proportion well above the Champagne average.

The house style is defined by its use of oak: 80% of each harvest is vinified in small Burgundy oak barrels, a practice that gives Bollinger wines their characteristic depth, complexity and richness. Bollinger is also the only non-vintage Champagne producer to use a portion of reserve wines kept in magnums under cork, a method that preserves freshness while building complexity over extended ageing. The Brut Rose was created as an extension of the house's Pinot Noir mastery. The 5% still red wine addition, sourced from the estate's own plots, brings the characteristic tannin structure and depth that distinguishes Bollinger Rose from the paler, more delicate styles produced by many other houses.

Tasting Notes

Vintage: NV

Colour: Medium salmon with a fine, persistent and elegant mousse.

Nose: Pristine red fruit of redcurrant, cherry and wild strawberry with a slightly spicy hint. Still primary in fruitiness, with depth and complexity. Oak plays a supporting role, leaving the Pinot fruit front and centre.

Palate: Structured and lively with good length and a fine sparkle. Wild red fruit, bread rolls, a hint of mocha and creamy texture. A well-built, muscular palate with a degree of vinosity and a mineral, spicy finish.

Customer photo review of Vignoble Boudon 'Les Vielles Garennes' Bordeaux 2018

We absolutely love this wine! After one run through the decanter, it becomes a beautifully smooth red. We also purchased the decanter from The Wine Traveller and couldn’t be happier. Quick dispatch and delivery. The organic reds taste incredibly fresh and clean—no chemical aftertaste at all and no hangover. We're hooked. Thanks, Greg!

I'm very impressed with the ease of ordering and speedy delivery with my first order. Oh yeah....and the wine is delicious!

Annais Organic Chardonnay

I was at first hesitant about a sparkling wine in a screw cap bottle but was very pleasantly surprised by both the quality of the wine and the cap. The screw cap does a better job of keeping the bubbles fresh than any champagne stopper I have ever used. This wine is our favourite drop for those everyday bubbles where you don't want to open an expensive French champagne like Verve or Taittinger (she who must be obeyed favourites).

Tamburlaine High & Dry Premium Cuvée

My wife loves her French bubbles and rates this one favourably alongside her French favourites but with a considerably more affordable price tag!

I’ve had to give up my French champagne for health reasons and so I’ve tested many sparkling ‘wines’. I first sampled this at the famous Lakehouse Daylesford and have never looked back. It looks like champagne and is the closest thing you’ll get without the alcohol and the French touch. Give it a go!

Kolonne Null Cuvée Blanc No.1 Zero Alcohol Sparkling 375mL

My daughter loves this sparkling & I previously had trouble finding where I could buy it from. So pleased you stock it.

Kolonne Null Rosé Sparkling Wine 750ml

The wine is Magnificant. Subtle, flavoursome and very drinkable. My favourite red wine ever.

Chevalier De Bayard Aude IGP

It made me sad when my doctor said to give up alcohol. I love my bubbles. At a lunch at the Lakehouse I saw this non- alcoholic sparkling and gave it a go. Game changer. Looked the same and was very well received by my palate! The best part no adverse reactions and no hangover. So…..I had to buy some for those special celebrations when I didn’t want to feel left out. A little on the expensive side but worth it.

We are normally Shiraz drinkers, but I would describe this Grenache as a warmer-climate Pinot Noir with more body, making it incredibly approachable, food-friendly, and a fantastic alternative to heavier reds. It is a highly aromatic, medium-bodied red wine with flavours reminiscent of red cherry, raspberry, and strawberry. Very nice indeed.

Tscharke A Thing of Beauty Grenache

The best prosecco (in our opinion) and one we have bought lots of times.

See Saw Balance Prosecco

From the first time you had suggested this we have loved it.

We were amazed how quickly you managed to package our order and get it Aus Post. Unfortunately, Aus Post are a business that do not care about quality and it took 2 weeks to get it to us. This is not out of the ordinary and I feel Aus Post are hurting businesses and this might impact on whether we decide to purchase from you guys again. However, you guys were great!

Nomads Gardens Pinot Blanc

I tasted this wine at Marmelo restaurant in Melbourne. I loved it. I have been systematically tasting zero alcohol sparkling wines for some months and this was the best one I had ever tasted. I ordered 6 bottles, and everyone I share it with is VERY impressed.

Kolonne Null Cuvée Blanc No.1 Zero Alcohol Sparkling 375mL

My son bought this prosecco at the Sutherland Saturday markets, and we all agree it's the best prosecco we've had. I re-ordered directly through The Wine Traveller as they weren't there a couple of weeks ago, and delivery was super-fast plus 10% off my first order! Very happy, and will be purchasing again once we get through the latest box.

Delivery speed can improve further but the wines are lovely. Also will be good if photo as well as description refers to correct year of production

Brockenchack Jack Harrison Shiraz

We love this wine especially with some age on it. Deep rich palate that is beautifully smooth after breathing a few hours.
