Cape Jaffa set out to make a red wine with a light body and graceful structure, but with aromatic complexity and the kind of elegance that evolves with every sip in the glass. The Aura Cabernet Franc is exactly that: a wine for lovers of aromatic, food-friendly reds that do not demand patience or ceremony. Light and bright ruby in the glass, it opens with raspberry and violets, then candied apple, before a leafy finish, converting to earthy and mushroom notes. On the palate, light-bodied with lively acidity and delicate velvety tannins. A wine that rewards those who take the time to discover it.

Description

Cape Jaffa Wines was the pioneer of the Mount Benson wine region on South Australia's Limestone Coast, becoming the first winery to establish in the area. The estate is fully certified biodynamic, and approximately 50% of production is sourced from the winery's own biodynamic vineyards near Robe, with additional fruit sourced from a certified biodynamic grower in Wrattonbully.

The Limestone Coast is one of Australia's most exciting cool-climate wine regions, with a maritime influence from the Southern Ocean and distinctive terra rossa soils over limestone that produce wines of genuine freshness and mineral character. Cabernet Franc thrives here: the variety's natural aromatic complexity and relatively light structure are ideal for the cool nights and long growing season. The Aura range is Cape Jaffa's exploration of emerging varieties and styles, and the Cabernet Franc is a wine that has quickly become a standout in their portfolio. Winemaker Anna Hooper-Mackintosh brings a genuine passion for minimal-intervention, site-expressive winemaking to every wine in the Cape Jaffa range.
